Research and Evaluation
PHMC's
Research and Evaluation component, in existence since 1977, offers
a broad range of services related to health services research including:
- Program
evaluation
- Community assessment
- Outcomes
measurement training and technical assistance
Staff have diverse
backgrounds in the social sciences, public health,
social policy, and law. The services provided include:- Data
base development
- Quantitative and Qualitative
Data collection including telephone, mail, and in-person
surveys, existing records review, focus groups, key informant
interviews and observational studies
- Study
design and program implementation
- Data
analysis, report writing, proposal development and writing

Projects have a diverse funding base,
including federal, state, and local
governments, local and national foundations
and private clients. At any point in
time there are approximately 15-20
projects occurring, ranging in duration
from several months to 3-5 years. - The
programmatic areas and population
groups studied reflect a broad-based
public health interest and perspective.

- Populations studied include
children and adolescents, low-income
persons, homeless individuals and families,
substance users, older adults, racial/cultural
minorities, women, and neighborhoods.
