Latino Diabetes Alliance (LDA)Latino Diabetes Alliance (LDA) is a network of 30 organizations and 46 members who are working to improve Latino health and address diabetes in the greater Philadelphia region. The alliance establishes connections among their membership in order to (1) focus attention on the needs of Latinos with diagnosed diabetes in Southeastern Pennsylvania, (2) help identify undiagnosed diabetes in the Latino community and connect the newly diagnosed to care and education, (3) offer diabetes awareness and prevention information to the Latino community, and (4) serve as an advocate for Latinos with diabetes. Since its inception in 2000, the LDA has successfully established a respected advocacy and education presence in the community. They have also developed a number of successful programs and services included diabetes, nutrition, and physical activity education programs, Spanish-language programs for health conferences and expos, resource guides, and advocacy work with funding from the First Hospital Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. For more information contact:
