Our Goal

The goal of Public Health Management Corporation’s (PHMC) Supplier Diversity program is to promote and increase business opportunities for minority, women, LGBTQ+ and veteran-owned and/or small business enterprises. We believe in establishing and strengthening ties with the communities where we live and work by creating mutually beneficial business relationships that lead to the growth of diverse businesses across our region.

Inclusion and Commitment

PHMC is committed to ensuring an effective, consistent and equitable supplier diversity initiative that further strengthens our portfolio of highly qualified businesses that can provide exceptional goods and services at competitive prices. We encourage the growth of diverse businesses and are committed to addressing barriers these businesses face. Such businesses include:

  • Small Disadvantaged Business
  • Minority Business Enterprises
  • Women Business Enterprises
  • LGBTQ+ Business Enterprises
  • Disabled Business Enterprises
  • Veteran and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises

More specifically, our program aims to include companies that are at least 51% owned and operated by one or more of:

  • African Americans
  • Asian/Pacific Islanders
  • Hispanic Americans
  • Native Americans

and/or that qualify as a:

  • Women Business Enterprise
  • Disabled Business Enterprise
  • LGBTQ+ Business Enterprise

Process

PHMC’s partnership and buying approaches for all PHMC program and subsidiary organizations is centralized through PHMC’s Operations team. PHMC follows the guidelines established by the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) of the City of Philadelphia (or certified by agencies approved by OEO) and the Bureau of Minority and Women Owned Business Opportunities (BMWBO) of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
